  • Emergency Room Companions (ERC's) are trained and certified rape crisis counselors. They complete a forty (40) hour training program approved by the New York State Department of Health and are certified under the auspices of VIBS. ERC's are on call to respond to any Suffolk County hospital to meet with victims of rape, sexual assault or domestic violence of all ages.

VIBS' Action Network - Add your name to the list of individuals interested in receiving legislative action alerts. Share this information and help educate your friends and associates. This type of grass roots networking has the greatest long-range potential for truly preventing violence against women and children.

Consider involving a religious or community organization in a fundraising project for VIBS. Many groups hold social events naming VIBS the beneficiary of the event's proceeds. This is a great way to support VIBS financially and raise community awareness about the resources available to help victims of domestic and sexual violence.
